Performances, Appearances, & Rehearsals

The group has been fortunate enough to perform at many prestigious events including ethnic festivals in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington D.C. We participated in national Jamborees in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Connecticut, and Michigan. Annually, we attend various memorial masses, commemoration ceremonies, and parades to honor the lives of those brave men and women who perished in the fight for freedom and justice. These events are integral part of Polish Culture and we are proud to be a part of them.

We have also had the opportunity to entertain and bring both smiles and tears to those in nursing homes, hospitals and orphanages. We have performed for weddings, retirement parties, birthday parties, multicultural festivals, and other various community events, promoting our culture with both the young and the young at heart.

In years past, dance seminars and summer camps were attended annually to change and update our material. Attendees learned Polish songs, and dances, began learning the language, and learned about some of Poland's fine arts and crafts. Some members even had the opportunity to travel to Poland where they experienced Polish culture first hand in the homeland. We hold annual events for the dancers and their families as we consider ourselves family and a part of a larger family, Polonia.

Currently, the rehearsal time and location varies. Rehearsals are typically held throughout the school year, though extra rehearsals may be added as the need arises. We are always looking for new members- please email wislaniedancers@gmail.com for more information and a member of our group will respond. We would love to see you and perhaps have you dance/sing with us!

We are now booking appearances and performances for this coming year. Please contact us more information or if you would like to hire us to perform for your special occasion.

On December 16, 2023, member representatives of our group alongside PKM and others surprised Pułkownik (Colonel) Romuald Lipiński, a 97-year old WWII veteran who fought at Monte Cassino, with a small “Wigilia” celebration organized by Paweł Żuchowski of RMF FM Radio Station (in Poland).
